Holst Elected STS Resident Director

During its Business Meeting at STS 2021, the Society elected Dr. Kimberly Holst as the new Resident Director on the STS Board of Directors. Dr. Holst is a cardiothoracic surgery resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. As Resident Director, she will provide a resident’s voice, while working with the Board to help ensure that the needs of cardiothoracic surgery residents and medical students are addressed.

Free Leadership Series Starts April 8

Biographical Podcast Promotes a More Diverse Specialty
The “Same Surgeon, Different Light” podcast series features interviews that illuminate the struggles and triumphs of prominent surgeons over their lifetimes and careers. Recent episodes have starred Drs. Doug Wood, Melanie Edwards, Sidhu Gangadharan, Ourania Preventza, and Tom Nguyen. The final episodes of the first season will highlight the stories of Drs.
